This was Hallicrafter's idea of a well equipped station in 1942. That's the new and very hot SX42 being pointed out by the arrow. The item to the right of the microphone appears to be a homebrew transmitter. I guess they really liked big speakers back then.
There
were many ads like this one for the SX42 in each issue of QST just after
it was introduced. A dealer from just about every state ran this
ad. All at the same time.
